Michael Phelps Car Accident Blamed to the Other Driver
The news about Michaels Phelps car accidents became the hottest news these past few weeks. The incident triggered the public eye on what’s the real cause of the said incident. In the said report before the car accident of Michael Phelps happened, he drank a bottle of beer. Speculations were expressed that the Olympian star may be impaired at the moment the accident happened but based on the investigation Michael Phelps was not under the influence of liquor and showed no signs of it. But it was found out that Michael Phelps was using an expired, out of state license. Because of this, Michael Phelps needed to appear in the court to explain about the out of state license. But despite of the flaw Michael Phelps got into, he was not blamed why the accident happened. According to the report, the woman named Amanda E. Virkus of Sandy Spring was held responsible for the car accident. She ran a red light at the intersection of two one way streets north of downtown. Michael Phelps’s Escalade crashed into the side of the other car. Virkus who did not also show signs of being impaired will be cited for failure to obey a red light and she will have the penalty of $180 as fine and three points on her driver’s license. Both cars have been damaged; Michael’s Escalade had a crumpled front hood while Virkus’ car had damage on the driver’s side. Two other parked cars have minor damages. Michael Phelps had no serious injuries only his ankle hurt.
His two passengers were uninjured but Virkus was sent to local hospital to have some treatment after she felt pain on her neck.
